“Up there,” he managed, “Where white is black and black is white, I won.” Ted Hughes

So Charlie Crow…. Anyone who knows anything about my musical background will know of my love of Jazz. My greatest influence is Herbie Hancock and I know the music that has moved me and influenced me the most over the years has been Jazz. This side project is as my label puts it is their worst nightmare hahah…..

But it’s not straight Jazz in any sense, it’s electronic, it’s a combination of a lot of things and as much as anything it’s inspired by our friend Charlie Crow who visits us in our garden and demands his peanut butter sandwhiches that Erin makes for him… You can see him here….

The basis of the instrumentation is my old Fender piano, Ivory, BFD drums, my Moog and Erin on trumpet. It’s pretty organic and simple and it just allows me to express those jazzy kind of ideas that aren’t relevant in my main music project. I hope you like it and if you have never listened to anything remotely jazzy maybe this can be a door for you to explore the things that have inspired me so much over the years.

So finally it’s set for release initially only on iTunes from September 1st and in a very limited edition CDR. Whats the point in my pressing a 1000 cds just to have them sit in boxes under my studio couch with all the others haha So if you would like a CDR I will burn you one myself and put some pictures together or something anyway it will be nice.

Well the CDR is ready and you can order it using the Paypal button below, I’ll ship them before the end of the week. I’m making at most 250, they are all burnt on my studio computer from the original master files so no loss of quality and as close as you can get to being there while I’m making it. I really think this is the future for distributing music to the people who really want it, this and iTunes. They are £7.50 each including p&p. I feel really good about this, it’s very personal music and it’s a very personal way of making it available I hope you agree and enjoy it……

The physical EPs are now sold out but you can buy the download on iTunes with the link button below…
